What do you see when you open a sketchbook ?
Is it a history book, a diary or a quiet promise of something new that is coming in the world that has not yet come, a present of some sort ? With enough courage, I suppose scribbles do unfold valiantly and give a new shape to this world. Perhaps, it is the idea that something new come out of nowhere and that it renews us that fascinates us.
A sketchook is a hearth, and adventure and a secret place of refuge. It is a place to take what we know from this world and reassemble it to find new meanings in what we know. It is also a place for self-expression where we can release our truths and see ourselves for who we really are. A sketchbook is also a site for dialogue where ideas can be exchanged so we can grow from them. Sketchbooks allow us to listen to ourselves and create what we wish to see so we can make this world a better place.
This sketchbook project has visual art from drawings, paintings, photographs, collages and art books. First I put what I am learning and assembling together into my art journaling blog and my online sketchbook, then I post the end results in my sketchbook website.
You will find poetry, stories and images through drawings, collages, art books and paintings in my small shop on the web Please let me know what you think.
A sketchbook, after all, is truth, love and a dare in the process
of looking. Welcome to my hearth. The pages are opened.
I warmly invite you go through my the art from my sketchbook and COME IN !!
I hope you will enjoy your time here.
